BREAK WITH THE IDEA THAT ONLY NATURE IS HEALTHY!

Earth’s inhabitants are not only increasing in number, but also getting older and older. Clearly, we will need much more food in the future. This, ideally, should be sustainable, healthy and rich in protein. So, what will a menu plan look like in 2050? “Not radically different from today,” says the CEO and founder of the Zurich think tank W.I.R.E., Dr. Stephan Sigrist, researcher of consumption issues and the health system. Because, “when we look back 30 years, we see that we don’t now nourish ourselves fundamentally differently. New components have been added, yes. However, consumers have yet to learn that technological food does not equal highly processed and unhealthy food.”
Could a solution for a healthier and resource-saving diet look something like, for example, government regulations? With a cap on the amount of meat consumed per capita per week? Forcing consumers to eat healthier and more sustainably?
This podcast with host Andrin Willi and Dr. Stephan Sigrist ventures a look into the future, and discusses possible solutions to benefit us, the environment and posterity.
