With the first warm rays of sunshine, more and more is happening in the fields. For example, the rhubarb is already growing vigorously. Depending on the weather, the first stalks are harvested at the end of April. By the way, these can be kept cool for up to five days. It's best to wrap them in a damp cloth and place them in the refrigerator.

Did you know that unlike many other vegetable varieties (yes, rhubarb is technically a vegetable), the harvest season for rhubarb is extremely short? The plant already goes into its dormant phase at the end of June so that it can gather strength for the next year.

That's why we want to enjoy this year's rhubarb season even more - preferably with a delicious cake and syrup!
